For temporarily blocking or permitting water flows at high pressures

Due to the very rigid design, the penstocks  are easy to operate by means of a spindle for closing an opening with high water pressures. Default constructed for water pressures of 10 metres of water column (mWC) with a double sluice function.

The KSA-HD penstock is produced  as double sluice function as standard. The penstock consists of a vertically movable stainless steel sliding plate that seals off a circular opening in a wedge shape. The wedged sliding plate is adjustable all around. After manufacturing its adjusted precisely by the KWT specialists according to the project requirements. The seal is obtained by means of an special EPDM rubber, placed in the sliding plate, which reverses the water pressure on both sides. Due to the pressure requirements and mounting surface intolerance, the frame of the HD penstock is hollow to allow a concrete grout seal to be placed to provide the pressure security between the penstock and wall.

Stainless steel grade 316, optional is 304.
EPDM cellular rubber compound for watertightness

With it  unique and patented 3° angular wedge design in stainless steel with outstanding sealing and accurate adjustment features. It is applied in the extreme pressure range (8-40 mwc) like pump stations, mines and hydropower dams. The KSA-HD is engineered for bespoke use.

Engineered options are up to CC3 for EN 1993-1-4 according to the Euro Code and up to EXCL3 according to the EN 1090.

Suitable for application on concrete walls.
The wallframe of the KSA-HD is hollow and can be filled up with mortar for watertightness.

The frame is fitted to the concrete with chemical anchors.
